SOE Welcomes Incoming MPhil Cohort with Two-Day Orientation
August 22 to 23, 2025 — The Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education (SOE) welcomed its newest MPhil in Education Leadership and Management cohort with a two-day orientation designed to connect, inspire, and prepare students for the journey ahead. The program opened with a warm address and an interactive ice-breaking session by Dr. Tayyaba Tamim, Dean of SOE, followed by introductions from faculty and students. Dr. Gulab Khan, Director of Academics, shared an overview of the program, afterwards Dr. Mariam Haider engaged students in a dynamic team-building activity. Later, Ghazi Taimoor and Ali Noumani led an energetic leadership workshop. The day concluded with an inspiring conversation featuring Syed Babar Ali and the Vice Chancellor of LUMS, before students toured the campus together.
Day 2 focused on giving students the tools to succeed, with sessions providing an overview of the different departments at SOE and LUMS, including the Registrar’s Office team, LMS members, Library staff, and the Office of Accessibility and Inclusion (OAI). Advisement meetings helped students plan for the year ahead, while discussions on academic accommodation and harassment awareness reaffirmed SOE’s commitment to a safe, inclusive learning environment. By the close of orientation, the incoming MPhil class left with timetables, new friendships, and a shared excitement for their academic journey at SOE.
