Stories From My World – Through My Eyes was a 5-day creative summer camp organized by Jugnu – The Enlightened Learners and Deep Now Learning, founded by LUMS alumni Sumaiya Zohaib and Waqas Manzoor, in collaboration with the Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education at LUMS. The camp welcomed the children of our valued custodial team, offering a space for self-expression through storytelling, photography, creative writing, and a variety of hands-on activities. Each day encouraged participants to explore their surroundings and reflect on their experiences in imaginative ways. Activities included listening to moral stories, building with recycled materials, collecting seeds in the open, creating visual art, and performing short scenes. Through photography, children captured spaces and subjects that mattered to them, from their favorite places to beloved pets. As the camp progressed, they shared their original stories and creative work with each other, leading up to team-based creativity, group collaboration, and celebration.

The camp concluded with thoughtful closing remarks by Dr. Jessica Albert, Assistant Professor at LUMS, and was made possible with the support of Ms. Sarah Mahmood and Fajr Iftikhar from the Marketing, Admissions, and Student Affairs team. Centered on creativity, collaboration, and belonging, this initiative celebrated young voices and reminded us that every story deserves to be seen and heard.
