On August 28th, 2021, LUMS Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education welcomed the inaugural batch of the Executive MPhil Education Leadership and Management Programme. With the aim to create an enabling education space to support the working professionals without having them to take a career break, SOE achieved a milestone by launching the Executive programme, hence facilitating the working professionals to continue their learning journey.
Dr. Faisal Bari, Dean School of Education, in his welcome address stressed on the importance of rigor and commitment towards the process of learning, highlighting that these are the essential attributes required for the programme as well. He said, “Be skeptical but not sarcastic. Be inquisitive but be open to totally new perspectives and new opportunities and new ways of thinking. Do not shut people or ideas out just because they are different from what you are thinking. Have that confidence to be open to new ideas.”
Following this, on 30th August, 2021, LUMS Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education welcomed the fourth cohort for its flagship programme MPhil Education Leadership and Management. MPhil Class of 2023 managed to uphold the legacy of the school; comprising of students with diverse academic and professional backgrounds.
On 31st August, 2021, SOE organized a combined session for the students of both the programmes to interact with each other. Syed Babar Ali, Vice Chancellor Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Rector Shahid Hussain, Management Committee member Osman Khalid Waheed and Dean SOE Dr. Faisal Bari welcomed the incoming cohorts. Syed Babar Ali while addressing the MPhil and EMPhil Class of 2023 said, “Education doesn’t depend on the size of your pocket; it depends on your willingness, inquisitiveness and desire to learn and improve yourself. We will make sure that we provide you with all the facilities to equip yourself. Learning is a lifelong commitment. There is no limit to it. What we expect from you is to make a difference in the lives of many.”
The Orientation week ended on 1st September, 2021 on a high note. The students of the Class of 2023 were enthusiastic to venture into and explore new horizons of the education sector, looking forward to starting this new journey at SOE.
