On 8th October, 2021, the LUMS Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education, as part of its EduTalk series conducted a session titled "Connecting School Leadership and Professional Learning Networks: An International Perspective from TALIS 2018". The session hosted by Dr. Gulab Khan, Assistant Professor at SOE, invited Dr. Pablo Fraser, Education Policy Analyst, TALIS 2018, OECD.

Besides his work in TALIS, Pablo also led the OECD project on teachers’ well-being and quality teaching. His research interests consist of the exploration, identification and description of current global trends in the development of quality educational policies. He has been involved in comparative and international research concerning teachers' professional development, teaching practices, and teachers' well-being.

Dr. Gulab Khan has over 20 years of experience in the field of education (K through higher education) in both private and public sectors. His research interests intersect at the nexus of education policy and practice on issues related to teacher quality, supervision, teacher status, educational leadership, and school improvement.

The session discussed the broader themes in which principals and teachers collaborate in classrooms, schools, and professional development avenues, using 2018 TALIS data, the largest international survey on teachers. It further examined the quality of interpersonal relationships between colleagues in school, which provide the basis for a collaborative working environment.
