The School of Education at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) was established in January 2017, joining the existing schools of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, and Law. The LUMS School of Education will operate at the crucial nexus of research, policy and practice, developing a faculty that is internationally competitive, connected, and relevant. As Pakistan’s premier research university, LUMS is committed to supporting a multidisciplinary faculty research program. The School of Education has an active International Advisory Board composed of distinguished faculty and strong research and teaching partnerships with leading schools and faculties of education in the United States and United Kingdom. The curriculum, featuring extensive field engagement, will produce graduates capable of becoming strategic leaders, policy researchers, and reflective practitioners, distinctly placed to direct and shape a reimagined and vibrant education reform agenda for Pakistan.
The School of Education at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) invites applications for full-time and/or adjunct, permanent (tenure track) or fixed-term contract (1-3 years) faculty appointments at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor positions. Specializations include education leadership, policy, management, curriculum and/or any other discipline with a concentration in education.
Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should hold a PhD / EdD in education or in any other discipline with a strong education related research component, or be near completion (within 6-months). Applicants for higher level positions must, in addition, have a proven track record of publications in high-impact international journals and a demonstrated capacity to pursue research funding and lead academic programs. Postgraduate teaching experience is preferable for Assistant Professors but essential for senior appointments. Candidates with the potential to produce international research, a commitment to excellence in teaching (in English), good interpersonal skills and networking ability will be given preference.
Successful candidates will be required to design and teach courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, develop the School of Education academic program, and supervise Master's theses and capstone exercises. The maximum teaching load for faculty is four three-credit courses per year.
Salary is negotiable and commensurate to qualification and experience. There are a number of benefits including an individual research budget, regular support for participation in international academic conferences, contributory provident fund, and medical insurance for self and family.
